Physical Therapist providing treatment

Physical & Hand Therapy

Musculoskeletal injuries occur on the stairs, at the desk and on the field. No matter where the injury takes place, rehabilitation helps you get back to your active life. For residents of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, expert physical and hand therapy services are offered close to home at Summit Orthopedics.

Your rehabilitation process begins with an evaluation. Based on your symptoms and needs, you receive an individualized treatment plan that helps you live life at your summit. Our therapy program goes beyond on-site therapy. We also provide at-home exercises to increase strength and improve function. At every step on your therapy journey, your therapist encourages you to participate in the rehabilitation process.

Specialty Athletic Programs

Runners, golfers, cyclists and overhead athletes benefit from our sport-specific specialty programs. These programs are for athletes of any level, whether recovering from injury, experiencing pain during their sport or aiming to raise their performance to the next level.

Our therapists observe you doing your sport—riding a bike, swinging a golf club or running. Then they provide a detailed assessment and suggest equipment adjustments, technique improvements or exercises to boost performance.

Advanced Techniques

We also offer advanced techniques that give you the upper hand in recovery.

Our Hand Therapy and Occupational Therapy Specialists

At Summit Orthopedics, our well-rounded team of therapists includes certified hand therapists. These occupational therapy experts undergo rigorous training to provide care for hand and upper extremity disorders.

If your hand requires treatment, your hand therapist becomes a vital part of your orthopedic care team. Our hand therapists work with orthopedic surgeons and other specialists to improve grip and pinch strength and more.

For example, occupational therapists help you navigate how to perform skills that may be challenging, whether by finding alternate approaches, helping you train skills or making suggestions of how to make your space more functional for you.

Working together with our team of physical, hand and occupational therapists, you can achieve or recover the manual dexterity you need to go about your daily life with ease and confidence. Our many locations throughout the Minneapolis/St. Paul mean it’s easy for you to have regular therapy so you can make steady progress toward your goals.
