As the Workers’ Compensation Coordinator, you will provide general office support to clinical staff by assisting with coordination of patient care services. This position will serve as a liaison between client companies, insurance carriers, other clinics, and patients regarding work related injuries. This role also functions as an internal resource for staff at Summit Orthopedics and MN Occupational Health with any needs relating to workers compensation injury patients.
This is a full-time opportunity at our new Coon Rapids MN Occupational Health (MOH) Campus. Current schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM (subject to change). This position may also require flexibility to float to other MOH sites as needed.
- Initiate regular communication with employer groups and insurance carriers regarding patient status; actively assist in effectively answering any questions or concerns regarding injured workers. Responds in a timely manner to all inquiries and communications.
- Serve as workers’ compensation account manager to clients as identified and assigned by manager. Provide care coordination for all injured workers throughout any/all care systems.
- Provide work status reports to clients, accurately and within established timelines.
- Maintain and update workers compensation referral account information in Systoc, which is our electronic medical record. Obtain workers’ compensation claim numbers and update information in Systoc.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all Summit Orthopedic Urgent Care staff for all work related injury cases. Responsible for developing and maintaining professional working relationships with each Orthopedic Urgent Care site with goal of improving communication and process improvement of work related injury paperwork and referrals.
- Facilitate work related injury referrals to MOH from Summit Orthopedics Urgent Care visits.
