The Operating Room Nurse Manager provides direction and oversight to: all Operating Rooms, Sterile Processing, and Purchasing department staff including, Registered Nurses, Surgical Technologists, Sterile Processing Technicians, and Purchasing Specialists working within the Surgery Center. The Operating Room Nurse Manager reports directly to the Director of the Surgery Centers.
This is a full-time role providing primary leadership at our new Plymouth Surgery Center scheduled to open in the Fall of 2025. Monday – Friday schedule. Must be flexible to float to other Summit locations as needed.
- Oversees operations of the Operating Rooms, Sterile Processing, and Purchasing Departments.
- Assists in efforts to maximize utilization and productivity within the Operating Rooms, Sterile Processing, and Purchasing departments.
- Works in conjunction with the Equipment and Inventory Control Liaison and the Education Coordinator to implement training for new equipment as needed.
- Participates in the development of new policies and procedures relevant to the performance of nursing duties within the center.
- Provide a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Completes staff performance reviews and performance management.
- Collaborates with administrative staff on special projects and other assignments.
- Facilitates staff scheduling, staff meetings and initiates orientation plans.
- Participates in planning for future needs of the operating room.
- The Operating Room Nurse Manager may perform as staff nurse in the operating room as needed.
Summit’s hiring range for this position is $108,082 to $135,102 per year. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
