The Operating Room nurse will circulate for all orthopedic cases at the Surgery Center. The nurse functions as an integral part of the surgical team. The RN possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, equipment, tools, and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
This is a part-time (0.625 FTE) role primarily consisting of daytime hours. Current schedule includes 10 hour shifts (subject to change) with varying start times; Specific times and schedule will be determined at the time of interview. This position is based at our Landmark Surgery Center in Woodbury, MN but may require floating to other Summit locations as needed.
Eligible for a $6,250 Sign-On bonus (pro rated based on FTE)
- Applies and monitors the principles of aseptic technique throughout the intra-operative phase.
- Assembles necessary instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for the surgical intervention.
- Acts as scrub or circulating nurse during the intra-operative phase.
- Performs surgical prep according to professional standards.
- Documents all intra-operative care.
- Follow standard procedures/protocols in the preparation of the environment for the surgical procedure.
- Coordinates the activities of other healthcare providers during surgical intervention as necessary; controls traffic in surgical suite.
- Evaluation of patient’s psychological status including level of understanding, perception of surgery, anxiety level, religious and/or cultural beliefs.
