The Operating Room nurse will be scrub and circulate for all orthopedic cases at the Surgery Center. The surgical Surgical scrub (RN Surgical Scrub), functions as an integral part of the surgical team. The RN Surgical Scrub possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, equipment, tools, and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
Casual opportunities available at all Surgery Center locations – Eagan, Woodbury, Vadnais Heights and Minnetonka. Must be willing to work a minimum of 2 shifts per month. Primary location is for the Vadnais Heights Surgery Center with flexibility to float to other surgery centers as needed.

- Applies and monitors the principles of aseptic technique throughout the intra-operative phase.
- Assembles necessary instrumentation, supplies, and equipment for the surgical intervention.
- Acts as scrub or circulating nurse during the intra-operative phase.
- Performs surgical prep according to professional standards.
- Documents all intra-operative care.
- Follow standard procedures/protocols in the preparation of the environment for the surgical procedure.
- Coordinates the activities of other healthcare providers during surgical intervention as necessary; controls traffic in surgical suite.
- Evaluation of patient’s psychological status including level of understanding, perception of surgery, anxiety level, religious and/or cultural beliefs.
Summit’s hiring range for this position is $39.44 to $52.66 per hour. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
