Significant physical changes such as growth, swelling and/or medical condition may require the orthosis be adjusted, replaced or even changed in the design of the orthosis. A patient’s orthosis may require adjustments if the original symptoms return or there is discomfort that inhibit its use. Also, redness or irritation on the skin lasting more than 15 minutes after removing the orthosis may be a sign of excessive pressure and the orthosis needs to be adjusted.
If in doubt, schedule a follow up with the Bracing provider and they will be able to help you determine if any adjustments are needed.
