Summit Orthopedics is committed to providing employees with competitive benefits. A brief overview of the benefits for which employees may be eligible follows.
Medical
Employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for health care coverage through PreferredOne. This coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment. Employees working less than 20 hours per week are not eligible for health care coverage.
Dental
All employees are eligible for dental coverage through Delta Dental. This coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
Term Life Insurance
Employees working 24 or more hours a week are eligible for this benefit the first of the month following 30 days of employment. There is no cost to the employee; Life and AD&D Insurance is paid for by Summit up to one times the employee’s annual salary (up to $50,000).
Long Term Disability Insurance
Employees working 24 or more hours a week are eligible for this benefit the first of the month following 30 days of employment. There is no cost to the employee; Long Term Disability Insurance is paid for by Summit. In case of a disability, the employee would receive 60 percent of their monthly salary up to $5,000 maximum for a maximum period of 24 months.
Supplemental Insurance (Voluntary Benefit)
Employees working 20 or more hours a week are eligible to participate the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
PTO
Employees are eligible to accrue PTO if they are working 20 or more hours per week. PTO is an all purpose time off policy, combining traditional vacation and sick leave plans into one flexible plan.
Holidays
Employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible for holiday pay. The following holidays are recognized by Summit:
Two additional holidays are designated each year, these dates are determined by Administration.
Health Care Spending and Dependant Care Accounts
Employees working 20 or more hours a week are eligible to participate in this benefit. Flexible (FSAs) allow you to pay for certain health, dental, or dependent care expenses you incur such as co-pays, prescriptions, or day care expenses on a pretax basis. Participants in the plan realize this benefit helps lower your taxable income.
Employee Assistance Program
Available for all employees and their family members, this plan is designed to help reach a caring and informed professional who is ready to assist with work, family, personal, legal, or financial problems. The EAP professional can help identify troubling issues, suggest coping skills, and discuss possible plans of action.
Education Fund
Summit encourages all staff to maintain their professional credentials and increase their knowledge in the field of health care. Education funds are available to all employees and reimbursement is based on your job classification.
