What happens during the exam?
It is important to tell your technologist if you have:
- Aneurysm clips
- Metal plates
- Metal pins or prosthesis
- Cardiac pacemaker
- Joint Replacement
It is also important to tell your technologist if you are pregnant.
You will be asked to remove any metal jewelry or objects before approaching the MRI machine.
You will be asked to lay down on a table. The technologist will position you for comfort and ask you to remain still during the procedure.
During the exam, you will be asked to lie quietly and relax. The technologist will be in the control room during the procedure.
Summit Orthopedics' MRI machine is remarkably quiet and unobtrusive.
After the technologist has obtained all of the views requested by your physician, you will be free to leave.
