How do I prepare for my MRI?

You can eat, drink and take your regularly prescribed medications prior to the examination. Because you are unable to move during an MRI exam, it is possible that you will experience some pain and stiffness. Please feel free to take pain medication one hour before your exam to help maintain your comfort. Wear comfortable clothes without metal fasteners such as zippers and buckles. If necessary, our office will provide a cloth gown or shorts.

It is very important that patients arrive 15 minutes prior to their exam. Patients arriving more than ten minutes late may have to be rescheduled for another date and time.
